Torsion test bench
Servo-hydraulic torsion test stands
Two servo-hydraulic torsion test stands are used for the dynamic testing of material samples. The specimen is clamped into the load path via ring clamping elements and can be loaded via the swivel motor. Thanks to the servo-hydraulic principle, force- or angle-controlled load curves are possible at frequencies of up to 40 Hz, depending on the specimen stiffness. In this way, fatigue strength tests with several million load cycles can be realized in a reasonable time. By using different swivel motors and matching valves, tests can be carried out with high control accuracy in the load ranges up to 200 Nm on the smaller test stand ("Dr. Dreh") and up to 400 Nm on the larger test stand ("Torsten"). The vertical arrangement of the load path minimizes constraining forces.
