Bioprocess Engineering
Bioprocess engineering is the engineering science which translates fundamental biological research into microbial production processes at industrial scale.
The utilization of sustainable carbon sources (CO2 and its derivatives, lignocellulosic materials, industrial waste streams) for the production of value-added products is at the centre of our research interest.
Our main areas of expertise are bioprocess engineering, metabolic engineering and synthetic biology, plant cell and algae technology, enzyme technology, and the development of smart lab systems.
Alumni Association Netzwerk Bioverfahrenstechnik Dresden e.V.
The alumni association Netzwerk Bioverfahrenstechnik Dresden e.V. closely cooperates with the Institute of Food Technology and Bioprocess Engineering and is a building block for the development of bioprocess engineering in Germany, especially in Dresden.
Due to the large number of our members a dense network is created, their work areas and institutions / companies, promoting cooperation between bioprocess engineers from institutions and industries and therefore connecting the research close to the practice.
Besides the subject-specific exchange of information Netzwerk Bioverfahrenstechnik Dresden e.V. supports finding of contacts, sharing of equipment and know-how, tendering of internships / dissertations and job offers, get-together at fairs and conferences and much more.
