50 years later – two anniversary classes celebrate their golden diplomas
🎓 How does it feel to return to the place where it all began after half a century? This autumn, the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering welcomed two special groups of guests of honor: the graduates of Paper Technology and Wood and Fiber Materials Technology returned to their alma mater to receive their Golden Diploma on the occasion of their 50th anniversary of graduation.
Paper Technology: First Golden Diploma ceremony in the department
The award had a historic character for Paper Technology: it was the first time that a Golden Diploma was awarded in this department.
13 graduates from the class of 1975 came to the Institute of Natural Materials Technology for this. Many of them went on to hold leading positions in the national and international paper industry.
A tour of today's laboratories offered insights into the further development of the department and showed impressively how modern technology and digitalization have changed the former study rooms.
Wood and fiber materials technology: festive award ceremony in the Zeunerbau
14 graduates from seminar group 71/15/10 of Wood and Fiber Materials Technology also received their Golden Diploma. The presentation of the certificates by alumni representative Caroline Meißner in the Zeunerbau provided the festive setting for a reunion that was accompanied by many personal conversations and shared memories.
The event was supported by the Association of Academic Wood Engineers at TU Dresden e. V. and the Chair of Wood Technology and Wood-Based Bioeconomy.
A bond spanning decades
Both anniversary celebrations made it clear how formative the time spent studying at TU Dresden was for the graduates - and how strong their ties to their alma mater have remained even after half a century.
We would like to congratulate all those celebrating their anniversaries and thank them for their many years of loyalty and commitment - together with our best wishes for good health and a continued close relationship with their alma mater.🌳🎉
