70 years Chair of Wood Technology and Fiber Materials Technology - an anniversary with double significance!

Since it was founded by Prof. Herbert Flemming in 1955, the chair has become a permanent fixture in national and international research.

A special moment: Prof. André Wagenführ was bid farewell in a festive ceremony after 25 years as chair holder. A new chapter begins with the symbolic handover of the baton to his successor, Prof. Alexander Pfriem.

The new appointees also come with a new name: Chair of Wood Technology and Wood-based Bioeconomy - a clear signal for future orientation and the importance of sustainable materials.
