Aim
The aim of the project is the establishment of an adapted use of rewetted pe atlands on a practical scale (up to 200 ha) and the establishment of an innovative, economically viable value chain for the biomass produced from wet management in Lower Saxony's Teufelsmoor. As part of a transdisciplinary and iterative living lab, further paludiculture areas are to be selected and established over the course of the project. Involving political, economic, scientific, ecological and social stakeholders, the project also aims to test ways of producing, processing and marketing paludiculture and to establish regional processing and marketing channels . The project will be scientifically supported by agro-economic, nature conservation and socio-economic studies as well as measurements of greenhouse gas emissions and water quality. In the sub-project, material processing paths will be developed on the basis of the raw material properties to be determined. Product-specific demonstrators are manufactured and product properties are determined and optimized.
