Presentation of the Latest Research Findings on Wood Modification

On October 26 and 27, 2026, the 12th European Conference on Wood Modification (ECWM12) took place in Dresden.

Our Chair of Wood Technology and Wood-Based Bioeconomy was represented by four members, who presented current research findings on wood modification in the form of oral presentations and posters:

• Characterization of condensed gases obtained during the thermal treatment of wood and their potential use in wood preservation treatment
• Investigations into the Swelling Pressure of Unmodified and Differently Modified European Beech
• Reinforcement of thermally modified wood with natural fibers for use in acoustic guitars

In addition to the scientific presentations, the conference provided an opportunity for engaging discussions, professional exchange, and new insights.
