Before the exam date:
- At least 1 week in advance: Log in to the relevant exam platform using your ZIH login, if you haven’t already done so (this is mandatory for participation). Possible exam platforms include:
OPAL Exam: https://exam.zih.tu-dresden.de
OPAL Exam2: https://exam2.zih.tu-dresden.de
OPAL Exam3: https://exam3.zih.tu-dresden.de - You can only take the exam by logging in via ZIH on the exam platforms. You can log in starting 15 minutes before the exam begins.
Please be present (virtually) at least 5 minutes before the exam begins. - Use a modern browser (such as Firefox or Chrome) to take the exam.
- Please also review the detailed instructions for taking an ONYX exam.
Immediately before the exam begins:
- Test your internet connection before the exam begins.
- Check to see if the established communication channel (…) is working.
- Start and finish your exam within the specified time window,
i.e., submit your exam as close to the end of the exam period as possible. Be aware, especially for upload assignments, that the system or network may respond with a delay if there are (very) many simultaneous uploads.
During the exam:
- If you encounter any problems or have questions during the exam, please report them promptly via … (preferably in writing via … and then wait until the proctor contacts you)
- If you have to interrupt an ONYX exam—for example, due to a browser crash—
please wait 5 minutes before logging in again to ensure that your entered answers have been fully transmitted to the system. - For upload assignments, be sure to write your name at the top of the sheet(s) in the file.
- Pay attention to file size: a maximum of 300 MB can be uploaded. Please save files at a sufficient, but not the highest, resolution.
After submitting the exam:
- Please log out promptly.
Additional notes:
- For upload assignments: The solution process must be clearly recognizable and written in a well-organized manner. Missing intermediate steps cannot be graded.
General Information:
- Students not listed on the exam roster may take the exam only subject to clarification of the circumstances. Grading will be possible only after the circumstances have been clarified and only if applicable.
- Mobile communication devices and remote communication devices may not be used. We ask that you do not abuse the trust we place in you during digital exams.
- A proven attempt at academic dishonesty will result in exclusion from the exam and a grade of 5 or “Fail.”
