Book by Werner Albring
After World War II, Werner Albring, the founder of the Institute of Fluid Mechanics, together with family and colleagues was taken to Russia, to a lonely place called Gorodomlia Island where the German scientists conducted research on fluid mechanics, rockets in particular, under the supervision of the Russian state. In 1991 Werner Albring published his memories in German.
This book has now been translated to English, edited and abridged by Ursula Kuhlmann-Walter which makes it accessible for English-speaking readers. Furthermore, unpublished material collecting archival findings has been added providing additional value to the new edition. The book can be purchased here.
