Digital Flight of Air Vehicles (DIGIfly)
Project name: Digital Flight of Air Vehicles (DIGIfly)
Project director: Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Ronald Mailach
Research Associate: Dipl.-Ing. Andriy Prots
Financing: LuFo VI
Duration: 11/2020 – 06/2023
Description:
The main focus of the research topic DIGIfly is the aerodynamic simulation of air vehicles with sustainable methods, their optimal implementation and automatic verification. The goal is to create an entire aerodynamic modeling of air vehicles which allows the analysis of the behavior at each operating situation. The creation of this model is supported by methods of artificial intelligence as well as application driven hardware and software solution to achieve a high factor of automation. By applying these methods on industrial applications the high performance and robustness is proven.
The sub research topic DIGIfly-TUD is aimed at the application driven software development to describe the system behavior. In addition to routines improving the database, methods describing the uncertainty of stochastic parameters are to be implemented. To validate the new processes, they will be applied on a turbomachinery test case.
