Successful defense of the dissertation by Dr.-Ing. Leopold Alexander Frankenbach
On 10 July 2025, Dr.-Ing. Leopold Alexander Frankenbach successfully defended his dissertation entitled: "Material and Process Development for Man-Made Fibers: Melt Spinning Technologies for Yarns from Post Consumer Waste Streams and Functionalized Filaments in Complex Multi-Material Designs", which he wrote at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM) at TU Dresden under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ronald Mailach (Institute of Fluid Mechanics, TU Dresden).

The doctoral thesis was reviewed by Prof. Dr. Chokri Cherif (ITM) and Prof. Dr. Christina Scheffler (Institute of Construction Materials, TU Dresden). Other members of the doctoral committee were Prof. Dr. Yordan Kyosev (ITM) as examiner and Prof. Dr. Markus Schubert (Institute of Process Engineering and Environmental Technology, TU Dresden).
