Record matriculation 2024 at IHI Zittau
161 students from 24 nations started their studies at the International Institute (IHI) Zittau of TU Dresden with the traditional welcoming event in the magnificent Bürgersaal of Zittau Town Hall. For comparison: in previous years, there were around 100 students per matriculation - an increase of around 60% - in contrast to the stagnating to declining trend at other universities in this country!
"Cash cows" of IHI's offer are the English-taught programs "Ecosystem Services" and "Organismic and Molecular Biodiversity" (run in cooperation with the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History in Görlitz and the Faculty of Biology in Dresden) as well as the courses offered in cooperation with the partner universities in Liberec, Pardubice, Budapest and Wrocław, as well as double degrees in the field of International Management.
Although German students make up the relatively largest group in the new student body (63), they are closely followed by India, Ghana and the Czech Republic. Larger groups of students also come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and China.
