Dresden is an excellent science hub. This is reflected not least in the numerous excellent summer school programs for both students and junior scientists. These schools are organized by committed members of TU Dresden and the partner institutions in the DRESDEN-concept research alliance.

The thematic scope and professional excellence of these compact teaching and research workshops are to be united under one umbrella brand – in order to make them attractive and visible to bright minds from all over the world.

A main outcome of the joint initiative between the team strategy and internationalization at the TUD and the DRESDEN-concept office is a central website that presents summer schools taking place in Dresden, carrying the illustrious name Season of Excellence - Dresden Summer Schools. On this page, both potential participants and organizers will find concise information on a wide range of schools throughout the year.

This campaign aims to increase the visibility of the Dresden Summer Schools started in 2023 for the very first time, showcasing the rich and diverse offers of schools 2023. Since then the initial actions keep thriving into a brand. From 2024 on, school organizers can gain practical help thanks to the support information on the website – from funding options, guidelines for sustainability, and venues, to cultural tips.

Establishing this brand will include high standards in terms of scientific disciplines, professional organization, the reputation of the host institutes as well as the exciting variety of experiences in Dresden. We hope this will amplify the work of the School organizers and attract even more interested and competent undergraduates, doctoral candidates and postdocs to both Dresden and science.
