SEASON OF EXCELLENCE – DRESDEN SUMMER SCHOOLS

Dresden is an excellent location for science. This is demonstrated not least by the numerous excellent summer schools on offer for students and junior scientists. These schools are organized by committed members of TU Dresden and the partner institutions in the DRESDEN-concept network.

The thematic breadth and professional excellence of these compact teaching and research workshops are to be united under one umbrella brand in order to make them attractive and visible to bright minds from all over the world.

The result of the joint initiative with the DRESDEN-concept office is a central web presence for summer schools in Dresden with the illustrious name Season of Excellence - Dresden Summer Schools. On this website, both potential participants and organizers will find concise information on the extensive range of schools on offer throughout the year.

This visibility campaign was launched in the form of an initial but rich collection of Schools 2023, which has since been developed into a brand. From 2024, school organizers can expect helpful support information - from funding opportunities and sustainability tips to event venues and cultural tips. Since 2025, we have been providing school organizers with a comprehensive guide to planning, implementing and following up on summer schools on request.

The professional quality, professional organization, reputation of the organizing institutes as well as the variety of experiences at the Dresden location flow into the establishment of the brand. We hope that this will strengthen the work of the school organizers and attract even more interested and competent students, doctoral candidates and postdocs to Dresden and science.
