Data protection statement and declaration of consent for the International Staff Training Week 2019 (ISTW 2019)

1.    Purpose and data collecting authority

Your personal data will be used
a.    for the purposes of organizing the ISTW 2019 and any future ISTW events as well as for sending updates and information via email,

b.    for organizational purposes (e.g. applicant selection by the Specialist Groups, see program) for carrying out specific events for the ISTW 2019,

c.    for accounting purposes with the funding body (German Research Foundation(DFG)) and

d.    for statistical purposes in anonymized form for internal reporting.

2.    Data processing

Data will be processed by the above-mentioned unit exclusively for the purposes of organizing the ISTW 2019 and future ISTW events (see section 4, Data transfer). Furthermore, your data (name, position, institution of origin) will be used for accounting purposes with the funding body, the German Research Foundation, as well as exclusively in anonymized form for internal reporting.

3.    Voluntariness and withdrawal of consent

Consent to the use of personal data is voluntary. It is not possible to participate in the ISTW 2019 without consenting to the processing of data. If consent is withdrawn, the data stored up to that point will continue to be stored due to budgetary regulations (accounting purposes with the funding body, the German Research Foundation), but will not be used for other purposes.

4.    Data transfer

a.    Organization of the ISTW 2019
Your personal data will be transferred to your Specialist Group hosts for the purposes of applicant selection. Furthermore, your name, position and institution of origin will be transferred to Central University Administration for budgetary purposes.

b.    Auditing by the funding body, the German Research Foundation
Your name, position and institution of origin will be used for auditing purposes by the funding body, the German Research Foundation.

c.    Internal reporting
Your data will only be used in an anonymized form.

5.    Storage period

Your name, position, nationality and institution of origin will be stored for up to ten years after the completion of the whole project (Institutional Strategy) and then erased.
All other data will be erased at the earliest possible time after full settlement.

6.    Publication

All other data is published exclusively in anonymized form for internal reporting purposes.

7.    Right to information

I am aware that I may at any time request information about the data processed concerning my person as well as the possible recipients of this data to whom it has been transferred and that I am entitled to a reply within one month of the responsible party for data processing receiving my request for information. Furthermore, I have the right to restriction of data processing and rectification of my data.

8.    Data Protection Officer and Supervisory Authority for Data Protection

I am aware that I can contact the Data Protection Officer of TU Dresden as well as the responsible Supervisory Authority for Data Protection at any time.
