Funding
The European Union offers a variety of funding programs to support research and education as a valuable public good. Our project "STIK - Study success through language, participation, integration and AI use" is being funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Brief description
The project "Study success through language, participation, integration and AI use (STIK)" at TU Dresden aims to improve the academic success of international students in English-language Master's degree programs. The background to this is the increasing number of international students, high drop-out rates and linguistic, social and organizational challenges. The Teaching Center for Languages and Cultures (LSK) and the International Office (IO) of TU Dresden are working together on the project.
Project activities
The main activities of the project include
in the Teaching Center For Languages and Regional Studies (LSK):
- the development of new study-accompanying German language courses at B1 level (blended learning and intensive courses) with a focus on participation and finding one's way in everyday life as well as transition into the labor market.
- In addition, AI-supported self-learning modules and portfolio work to promote autonomous learning are being developed and used in language teaching.
in the International Office (IO):
- Expansion of tutorial, counseling and mentoring services, including open office hours, peer support and intercultural events, to strengthen the social integration of international students and improve their orientation in their studies and everyday life, strengthen their participation on campus and increase their chances of a successful transition into the German labor market.
Target groups
