SOLAR-ERA.NET has launched its fourth set of transnational calls PV4 (photovoltaics) and CSP4 (concentrating solar power) on 8 December 2015. 14 countries and regions participate in these calls with an overall funding budget of some 10 MEUR. Deadline for pre-proposal submission is 11 April 2016.

In line with the Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2016-2017, Chapter 19 ("Dissemination, Exploitation and Evaluation"), point 6, the European Commission is setting up an expert group on evaluation methodologies for the interim and ex-post evaluations of Horizon 2020. If you are interested in participating in this expert group, please register and send an email confirming your interest by 31 January 2016.

An update of the Directive „ESF-Technology Funding 2014-2020“ (8.12.2015) opens for universities amongst others the way to apply for so called „ESF-InnoTeams“ and „ESF-Transfer Assistants“. The submission of proposals is possible with immediate effect irrespective of deadlines.

The ERA-NET Sustainable Animal Production (SusAn) has launched the first call for transnational research proposals on January 04, 2016. Deadline for submission of pre-proposals is March 29, 2016.

Shift2Rail, the Joint Undertaking backed by the European Commission and the rail industry, has published its first calls for proposals, endowed with €170 million to support innovation in railways. The deadline for submission of proposals is March 17, 2016.

The European Commission has published the 2016 Call for Proposals for "Innovative Training Networks" (ITNs) under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. The next call deadline is January 12, 2016. (NB: There will be only one deadline in 2016.)

The EPC is organising an information event on January 14, 2016 on the ESF Directive "Technology Funding 2014 - 2020", funding areas "InnoTeam" (junior research grous with SME participation) and "Transfer Assistant". An external speaker from the Sächsische Aufbaubank - Förderbank (SAB) will participate.

Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 (IMI2) has published indicative topics for the future calls.The Calls for proposals are to be launched in late 2015 and early 2016.
