In her introduction, Kirsten Vincenz, Director of the Office for Academic Hertitage at the TUD, highlights the developments of recent years and the perspectives of university collections.

The publication describes the development of the campus of TUD Dresden University of Technology in five chapters. The focus is on the buildings named after important personalities. The history of their conception and construction, their equipment for research and teaching as well as conversions and changes of use are each supplemented by a short biography of the patron. A separate chapter is dedicated to the development of the Forestry Academy in Tharandt, which is now part of the TUD as the Department of Forest Sciences.
