"My name is human" - 30 visual interpretations of UN human rights by Jochen Stankowski
On October 15, 2025, 5:00 p.m., the Farbenlehre Collection at TU Dresden will open the exhibition "My Name is Human"with 30 original paintings by Jochen Stankowski, from which large-format posters were created. The works have already been on display in over 125 locations and reached around 250,000 visitors - in schools, libraries, town halls, churches, shop windows, cultural institutions, youth centers and public spaces. The opening will be introduced by Prof. Ralf Weber, Collection Manager of the Colour Research & Theory Collection, and Jochen Stankowski.

Jochen Stankowski: Mein Name ist Mensch
Stankowski's image interpretations invite visitors to visually question the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: "You are invited to look at the graphics, let your imagination run wild and form a visual image of human rights articles that are easy to read but difficult to live by," writes Justus H. Ulbricht, a Dresden historian.
With this presentation, the Colour Research & Theory Collection is continuing its focus of regularly showing exhibitions at the intersection of its themes - perception, color, design, the public sphere - and interweaving these with teaching and research in a university context. Jochen Stankowski's artistic credo fits in with this: "For me, there is no boundary between free and applied art in my creative work."
