Experiencing Historic Farm Equipment: 21st Barnyard Festival by the Freunde historischer Landtechnik Dresden e.V. | August 29th, 2026, starting 10 am
Over the past 80 years, agriculture has undergone rapid changes, driven in part by advances in agricultural engineering. Research, development, and teaching in this field have been conducted at TU Dresden since 1953. Key milestones along this journey are showcased in the Collection of Agriculatural Technology which is maintained by a specially founded association.
On August 29, 2026, the Freunde historischer Landtechnik Dresden e.V. (Association of Friends of Historic Agricultural Technology Dresden) warmly invite you to join them for their 21st Barnyard Festival. Once again,, the focus will be on soil cultivation: plowing, cultivating, and harrowing are part of the program. On the field below the building at Bergstraße 120, those interested in technology can discover historic tractors and equipment from the Collection of Agriculatural Technology and see them in action. Experts will demonstrate the machines and take visitors on guided rides. There’s something for everyone, young and old alike, and delicious food from the grill and drinks on tap will keep everyone well fed and hydrated.
