Survey: Beyond the Binaries – Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden
What does it mean to be human—in a world increasingly shaped, measured, and mediated by algorithms? How do data-driven realities transform the way we think, feel, and act?
From April to September 2025, internationally renowned artist and filmmaker Mario Pfeifer explore these questions as the sixth Artist in Residence at the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden. His new project, titled “Beyond the Binaries,” focuses on the complex, evolving relationship between humans and artificial intelligence (AI)—a relationship filled with tension, potential, hope, and fear.
Pfeifer is planning an AI-based, dynamic video installation that listens to voices from the heart of our university: your thoughts and perspectives on being human, identity, and the boundaries of life.
We warmly invite you to become part of this project. Share your perspectives and thoughts in a short, anonymous survey (18 questions):

Participation is voluntary and takes only about 15 minutes. Please feel free to respond spontaneously, without overthinking. You are also welcome to answer in the form of bullet points. Your contributions will be carefully curated and become part of the artistic work. All data will be processed completely anonymously, with no personal data being collected.
Together, we aim to create a polyphonic portrait—of the tensions between man and machine, between the self and the system, between intuition and calculation.
