STOP!" sticker campaign
You may have already noticed them in the restrooms at Dresden University Medicine: eye-catching stickers that draw the attention of staff and students to the issues of (sexual) harassment, discrimination, and violence. With a clear message, the stickers make it unequivocal: There is no place here for abusive behavior! A survey (german only) conducted in 2024 among students and staff revealed that approximately two-thirds of women and one-third of men on our campus have been affected by sexism or (sexual) discrimination, harassment, or violence. This is a clear signal that protective measures must be taken!
Many victims and witnesses are unaware of the counseling, support, and reporting services that are available on campus. That is why the equality teams at MF-TUD and UKD want to use this initiative to raise awareness of the issue, empower those affected, and foster a culture of vigilance. Of particular importance is an embedded QR code that links directly to the team´s contact site. There, those affected and witnesses can find accessible support, confidential counseling, and information on additional support resources and services. The initiative is part of the institution’s broader commitment to ensuring a respectful, safe, and discrimination-free work and learning environment. Prevention and education are crucial building blocks for bringing about long-term change.
