New instrument booking database from July on
We want to inform you about the replacement of our old booking database by a modern facility management software (“Infinity”). This change will introduce new features for users, lab managers and the CFCI and will increase security and transparency; however, it requires the re-registration of all users.
We are aware about the potential trouble new software can cause. We will try our very best to solve any issues that arise as soon as possible. We also ask you to not postpone user registration until the very last moment.
Please find that general schedule and required steps for users below:
01. Schedule:
The software is running on a CFCI server hosted at TU Dresden ZIH and will open for user registration on June 1st. All users and lab admins must be registered by July 1st. Beginning July 1st, instrument reservations in the CFCI will only be valid if performed in Infinity and will not be able to be reserved in the old database anymore. Please note: Instruments of the other facilities (e.g. FACS) are not affected!

Please note: Before June 30, bookings will still only be valid if done in the old database (https://cgc.med.tu-dresden.de/phpScheduleIt). After July 1, CFCI instrument booking will only be possible via Infinity.
02. Migration/Registration:
Registration to the new database will require a valid ZIH-Login. UKD members can get a guest account. Please inquire with your Lab administration or Secretaries.
03. For Users:
We will do our best to migrate all booking rights into Infinity. Please check those and give us feedback in case it didn’t work properly. If you don’t have a ZIH-account yet, please apply for it now via your lab or clinics manager. External users are kindly asked to contact us.
04. For Lab managers:
Infinity requires active participation of administrative personnel and allows the lab managers to effectively control usage and expenses of their group members in the CFCI. We ask the group leaders/lab managers to register and assign a deputy (Senior PostDoc, Secretary) to manage lab details. A ZIH account is required for this.
We will offer a separate introduction to the software for lab mangers.
