New textbook by Jakob N. Kather: AI in Medicine
“AI has become an indispensable part of our everyday lives – even more so privately than professionally at present. In this book, I want to discuss what artificial intelligence can do, will be able to do, could potentially do, and also what it cannot do.” – Prof. Jakob N. Kather, Professor of Clinical Artificial Intelligence at EKFZ for Digital Health at TU Dresden.
Prof. Jakob N. Kather has written a textbook titled "Artificial Intelligence in Medicine – for Physicians", published by Springer.
The book provides a comprehensive overview of the opportunities, challenges, and limitations of Artificial Intelligence (AI). It explains the fundamental principles of AI – both in general and specifically in the medical context. In addition, it addresses important ethical and legal issues. Jakob N. Kather examines all relevant aspects of AI in medicine, from the basics to its application in clinical practice and research, and discusses open questions. Using numerous examples, the author offers an exciting outlook on an innovative medical landscape where AI and human expertise complement each other.
