BMshE - Women in Biomedical Engineering am ZMI Dresden

On June 16, 2025, a hybrid meeting of the BMshE (Women in Biomedical Engineering) expert committee of the German Society for Biomedical Engineering (DGBMT) took place at the University Hospital Dresden, at our Chair of Medical Informatics. 

The speakers of the expert committee - Miriam Goldammer, Alina Kohler and Fabienne Sahl - other members and interested parties were on site, while other participants joined online. A diverse group of 16 people from students to professors and from cities ranging from Freiburg to Berlin were represented.

In addition to a report on current activities in the expert committee, in particular contributions to the DGBMT annual conference, there was an intensive discussion on the specific goals that the BMshE expert committee, which was only founded this year, wants to pursue initially. As a result, the two topics of "collegial empowerment" and "gender-sensitive research" emerged, which will be explored in greater depth in the near future.
