Digital Progress Hubs Showcase at DMEA
Berlin, April 22, 2026
This year, the Digital Progress Hubs Health (https://www.medizininformatik-initiative.de/de/use-cases-und-projekte/digitale-fortschrittshubs-gesundheit) presented themselves to a broad professional audience at DMEA, Europe’s leading event for digital health. At the joint booth of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), they showcased their latest developments, use cases, and approaches to improving the use and connectivity of health data. The event also provided an opportunity for in-depth exchange with stakeholders from healthcare, research, and industry.
The exhibition focused particularly on data-driven solutions that create tangible benefits for patients and the healthcare system through interoperable infrastructures and user-centered applications. The Progress Hubs highlighted their role as key drivers of a connected, data-based healthcare system.
The Digital Progress Hub MiHUB also used DMEA strategically to further expand its network within the digital health sector. MiHUB aims to establish a central hub for researchers, healthcare providers, and patients in Eastern Germany. To achieve this, a cross-sector data space is being created, supported by an advanced communication, data, and research network.
This network connects, among others, the Data Integration Centers, which act as multipliers for neighboring regions and enable research within care-oriented networks. In addition, the patient portal developed during the first funding phase is being further expanded to improve interprofessional and cross-sector collaboration across the entire continuum of care and to integrate additional modules from cooperating Digital Progress Hubs.
Through their presence at DMEA, the Digital Progress Hubs Health underscore their central role in the digital transformation of the healthcare system.
