Dissertation defense: Chronic inflammatory bowel disease in children and adolescents

This week, our research assistant Jens Weidner successfully defended his dissertation. He earned his doctorate with a thesis on “Epidemiology and clinical course of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases in children and adolescents.”

Prof. Joachim Kugler, who holds the Chair of Health Sciences/Public Health at the IPAS – Institute for Occupational and Social Medicine – served as the primary reviewer. Prof. Mario Menk (Professor of Data Science in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the UKD) acted as second examiner, while the examination board was chaired by our Director of the ZMI, Prof. Martin Sedlmayr.
