Dresden University Medicine interdisciplinary at the NUM CONVENTION 2026
HSMD-Team at the CONVENTION
January 21–22, 2026: Dresden University Medicine (HSMD) was strongly represented at the NUM CONVENTION 2026 with a team of 25 people. Representatives from the Research Department, ZMI, ZEGV, ANE/ITS, Neurology, Clinical Infectiology, Pathology, the Children's Clinic, KKS and Biobank Dresden were involved, jointly demonstrating the breadth and strength of Dresden's commitment.
The active presence of the HSMD at the event reflects its firm anchoring in the University Medicine Network (NUM): Dresden researchers are currently involved in 11 infrastructures and 10 NUM research projects and associated studies.
Our ZMI team played a key role in shaping the program:
🔸Prof. Dr. Martin Sedlmayr opened and moderated the thematic block on prospective studies within the three specialist networks of infectious diseases, stroke, and intensive care medicine.
🔸Michele Zoch, as nationwide PI, introduced the NUM4Rare registry for rare diseases
🔸Alexander Engelbrecht and Dr. Thomas Ruprecht presented RecruIT, the recruitment platform developed at ZMI as part of the NUM Study Network.
🔸In the session “Research – Generating added value by linking data worlds,” Dr. Elisa Henke provided insights into the DAAeD – the data acceptance and processing center for non-NUM data in NUMSAR and ENRICH – while Tobias Schlosser presented a study on corneal ulcers based on OMOP.
We look forward to continuing our intensive collaboration within the network and, in particular, to the launch of the new projects on February 1!
