Annual Conference: Sleep Research and Medicine
Franz Ehrlich, Dr. Tony Sehr, Dr. Moritz Brandt, Dr. Miriam Goldammer (f.l.t.r.)
Dresden team at the 33rd Annual Conference of the German Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine (DGSM) e. V.
Focus: Sleep research in Germany
Our team from Dresden University Medical Center, consisting of employees from the ZMI and the sleep laboratory at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden, attended the annual conference of the German Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine (DGSM) in Hanover (November 27-29) and actively participated in organizing the program, which ran under the motto “Small perceptions – big waves.”
Based on their work in the Somnolink project of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), Dr. Miriam Goldammer and Dr. Moritz Brandt initiated the symposium “Early detection of hashtag obstructive sleep apnea during inpatient stays from an interdisciplinary perspective.”
➡️ Somnolink aims to significantly improve the diagnosis, treatment, and adherence to therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) – a condition that affects around 26 million people in Germany and often leads to daytime sleepiness, concentration problems, and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
The Dresden team is also co-organizing the symposium “Digital Health: Explainable AI in Research and Application”:
- Dr. Miriam Goldammer: Chair
- Franz Ehrlich: Presentation “Requirements for AI algorithms for clinical PSG evaluation: An analysis using the example of apnea detection”
