Job offer for Student Assistants in a research context
The Institute of Occupational and Social Medicine at the TUD Dresden University of Technology is looking to recruit
a Student Assistant (f/m/d)
as of 01.03.2026, initially limited until 31.08.2026
to support the research area of Public Mental Health as part of the DresdenStudy on Parenthood, Workand MentalHealth(DREAM), a cooperation project with the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics.
The maximum working hours are 41.5 hours per month. Remuneration is in accordance with the pay scale for Student Assistants at TU Dresden.
DREAM is a longitudinal cohort study that focuses, among other things, on the relationships between parental work involvement, family role distribution, stress factors and their effects on peripartum and long-term mental and physical health. Couples are repeatedly surveyed from the period of pregnancy up to 7.5 years after the birth of the child. DREAM is supplemented by four sub-studies: DREAMHAIR (hair cortisol examinations), DREAMEPI (epigenetic examinations and stress tests), as well as the now completed sub-studies DREAMTALK (qualitative interviews) and DREAMCORONA (quantitative questionnaires). Possible areas of responsibility, which are assigned with comprehensive training and supervision:
- Support and maintenance of the subject administration
- Support in communication with respondents by telephone, e-mail and post
- Preparation of survey materials
- Coordination and dispatch of questionnaires and gifts for respondents
- Maintenance of the online databases (via REDCap) for respondent administration
- Data preparation and input
- Support in the creation of new calculation data sets and SPSS syntax work (e.g. for the creation of indices, questionnaire evaluations, merging of variables, etc.)
Your profile/requirements:
- Degree in psychology or comparable (Bachelor from 3rd semester or Master)
- Basic knowledge of psychological methods, including diagnostics and statistics as well as clinical psychology
- Very good IT skills
- Good knowledge of English
- Experience with statistical analysis programs, e.g. SPSS, and literature management programs, e.g. Endnote, is an advantage, but not a basic requirement
- Open and communicative demeanor, diligence, reliability and independence
- Basic immunization against MMR and tetanus due to employment at the Faculty of Medicine
