IRTG 2773
Affective disorders are common complex disorders representing one of the greatest challenges to global health in the 21st century. Advances in diagnostic precision and early targeted interventions may provide an opportunity to address the enormous public health burden and individual suffering associated with these disorders.
The International Research Training Group (IRTG) 2773 “Risks and Pathomechanisms of Affective Disorders”, jointly initiated by the Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus at TU Dresden and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neurosciene at Kings College London (IoPPN), is designed as an interdisciplinary collaboration that offers a structured International Graduate Programme “Translational Research in Affective Disorders” for a new generation of talented young scientists.
The IRTG is funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and started July 1st, 2022. Doctoral students from the first cohort are about or have already finished their doctorate. The second cohort started in 2025.
