Research focus

We develop solutions in the field of application-oriented biomedical optics. The focus here is on the translation of high-resolution technologies such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), infrared spectroscopy and non-linear optical microscopy into biomedical and clinical applications.

The interdisciplinary Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering (AB MPH & BMT) offers outstanding research opportunities in an environment characterized by university excellence and the direct affiliation to the University Hospital Dresden. In addition, the AB MPH & BMT is responsible for the education of students of human medicine and dentistry in the subject of Physics (regular study program Med. Faculty TUD, MediC Chemnitz) as well as Biomedical Engineering (Faculty ETIT TUD). Information on the modules"Physical-chemical fundamentals of biomedical engineering" and"Biomedical engineering in clinical use" can be found in OPAL.
