Postgraduate Studies
The Institute of Physiology supports the research-based doctorates of medical students, as well as the doctorates of natural scientists in subject areas of physiology and pathophysiology. This can be done as part of the existing doctoral programs (see below) or as a direct doctorate at the institute.

For doctoral studies, the Institute of Physiology cooperates with the following doctoral programs:

- DIGS-BB (for students with a background in medicine or natural sciences)

General information on doctoral programs for medical and natural science students is presented here. Doctoral theses are supervised by the doctoral college (3 supervisors). Parallel to the dissertation work, the doctoral student participates in a scientific training program.
For admission to the doctoral programs applies in principle:
1. Medical doctorates accompanying their studies (e.g. within the framework of research semesters).
2. Scientist for PhD programs after completion of the qualifying course of study.
