Es werden Analysen von Ethanol, Arzneimitteln und Betäubungsmitteln einschließlich ihrer Abbauprodukte sowie toxikologisch relevante Substanzen für Sektionsfälle, Verkehrsstraftaten und für klinische Fälle durchgeführt.

Die Forensische Genetik widmet sich unter anderem der Spurenuntersuchung sowie der Abstammungs- und Verwandschaftsbegutachtung. Dazu werden ausgewählte Bereiche der Erbsubstanz (DNA) untersucht.
