The cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine and the German Surgical Foundation (DCS)
The cooperation between TU Dresden, the German Surgical Foundation (DCS) and MIB GmbH serves the joint development, implementation and quality assurance of international dental Master's degree programs that meet scientific standards and are geared towards practical application.
Principles of cooperation
- The TUD Dresden University of Technology (University), the German Surgical Foundation (DCS) and MIB GmbH (MIB) work together in a spirit of trust and partnership.
- The aim is to continuously develop the cooperation, in particular by introducing new study programs.
- Public relations work for the degree programs is coordinated between the parties.
Degree programs
- The university offers five postgraduate Master's degree courses in dentistry.
- The degree programs are accredited and integrated into the university's dentistry research concept.
- With the IMC, the DCS offers a scientific education based on the University's standards.
- Participants are prepared for the university examinations on the basis of the study and examination regulations.
Rights and duties of the DCS
- The DCS organizes teaching based on the curricula adopted by the University.
- It is responsible for enrollment preparation, data transmission and public relations.
- It may use the university logo for the duration of the contract.
Rights and obligations of the university
- The University assumes academic responsibility, in particular for curricula, admissions, examinations and quality assurance.
- It awards academic degrees and grants access to university facilities, such as the library.
- The university submits accreditation applications and carries them out in coordination with the DCS.
Implementation of academic teaching
- The DCS provides suitable teaching staff who can be examined by the university.
- Both parties promote early-career researchers, jointly supervise theses and are involved in research and publications.
Intellectual property, copyrights and rights of use
- Intellectual property generally remains with the party that created it. Joint works can be used by both parties.
- Publications and the use of teaching materials require mutual consent.
- Confidential information is protected and may only be used for contractual purposes.
Quality assurance
- Degree programs are subject to university quality control and evaluation.
- The DCS supports these processes.
Academic Advisory Board
- An Academic Advisory Board is established to ensure the quality of teaching and the further development of the degree programs.
- The tasks of the advisory board include monitoring admission procedures, examinations, curricula and courses as well as advising the IMC (International Medical College).
- The advisory board consists of up to ten members, who can be appointed for three years
