Bakteriopolis in Munich

Happy and exhausted, the staff of the traveling exhibition “Bakteriopolis” have returned from Munich. From July 10 to 20, 2026, the interactive exhibition was on display right in front of the Schwanthalerhöhe shopping center and attracted numerous visitors as part of the Munich Science Days. Families and children, in particular, showed great interest in the fascinating world of microbes. In total, we welcomed over 1,500 visitors over the past few days.
Special thanks go to everyone who helped run and support the exhibition. In addition to staff from Thorsten Mascher’s research group, numerous other research groups from Munich were actively involved in running the exhibition. We extend our special thanks to all of them for their patience and for taking the time to share their fascination with science and microbiology.
