Institute of Zoology

The Institute of Zoology was founded shortly after the German reunification and moved to the current location in 2006.

In 2015, four chairs focus their modern zoological research on topics ranging from cellular interactions, parasitism, physiology and development to evolution. Please check the boxes above for more details.

We use cells, protozoans, insects and vertebrates as models to understand life from the molecular to the organismal level.
