INTRODUCING THE CHAIR
The Chair of Inorganic Molecular Chemistry is one out of 20 chairs in the Chemistry and Food Chemistry Department. The research activities of the group are focused on the development of new and modern concepts in synthesis for phosphorus based compounds. This includes also the investigation of novel reactivities and the sustainable application as multifunctional ligand systems for binding as well as extraction of metal ions.
INORGANIC MOLECULAR CHEMISTRY
In spring 2013, Prof. Weigand came to the TU Dresden and established the chair in the newly renovated Walther Hempel-Bau. The offices and laboratories for research and teaching of Inorganic Molecular and Coordination Chemistry are distributed over three floors. Since 2015, there are additional research and teaching facilities for industrial chemistry in this building, which are supervised by several chairs.
