The NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) facility in the Weigand group consists of two high-resolution NMR machines from Bruker. One is a 400 MHz Ultra Shield magnet equipped with a BBO probe (frequency area: 31P - 109Ag) and is controlled by an Avance III HD Nanobay console. The automatic sample changer (BACS Samplejet) consists of 60 sample holders which enables a high sample troughput in the daily routine. Variable temperature experiments are performed with a BCU II temperature unit (temperature range: +120 °C to -40 °C) and an N2 cooled low-temperature unit (to -140 °C).
The other high resolution NMR spectrometer system is a 500 MHz Ascend magnet equipped with a BBO(F) Prodigy CryoProbe (frequency area: 31P - 15N) controlled by a three channel Avance III HDX console. The cooled RF (radio frequency)-coils and preamplifier provide a sensitivity which is two to four times higher compared to the room temperate systems. In addition, this system is equipped with a sample changer (SampleXpress Lite) which consists of 16 sample holders. Variable temperature experiments are performed with a BCU II temperature unit (temperature range: +90 to -40 °C).
With this equipment 1D experiments (e.g. 1H, 7Li, 11B, 13C, 14/15N, 19F, 27Al, 29Si, 31P, 71Ga, 77Se, 125Te, etc.) and 2D-correlation experiments (e.g. HSQC, HMBC, 1H1H-COSY, 1H1H-ROESY, 31P31P-COSY, 1H1H-EXSY, 31P31P-EXSY, 1H19F-HOESY, 31P19F-HOESY, etc.) are performed in the daily routine.
Both high resolution NMR spectrometer systems are connected to the Helium recycling facility of the TU Dresden.
