Resource Ecology
Research at the Institute of Resource Ecology focuses on protecting people and the environment from the dangers of pollutants from technical processes associated with the generation of energy and the extraction of raw materials. The scientific challenge is to consider technology and ecology as an inseparable unit and thus make a decisive contribution to the safety and acceptance of technical processes. The research focuses on the ecology of radioactive and non-radioactive metals in connection with nuclear waste disposal, nuclear energy production and the technical processes along the value chain for metal-bearing raw materials.
