The paper describes a completely new, unprecedented enzymatic pathway of AsqJ which is only governed by modifications on the benzodiazepinedione substrate structure, hence unlocking a new biocatalytic synthesis of quinazolinones. We thank our collaborators Cooper, Mark and Prof. Houk for the brilliant computational work and the editors and reviewers for the very positive and high-speed evaluation of our paper (two weeks from submission to acceptance)!
