History of the Chair

The history of the Chair reaches back to the beginning of the 20th century. Here you can find a brief summary of the events that shaped the Chair over the last decades (only in German).

At home at the Hempel-Bau

Since spring 2013, the newly renovated Walther-Hempel-Bau in the Mommsenstraße is the home of the chair. The office rooms, laboratories and staff members are spread on three floors inside the building. Furthermore, the Modern Museum of Plastics is displayed in the rooms of the Macromolecular Chemistry and can be visited e.g. during the chemistry bachelor laboratory course.
