Benedict was born in Bautzen and studied chemistry at the TU Dresden. He finished his bachelor thesis in the group of Prof. Knölker on the topic of natural product synthesis. In his master, he focused on organic- and biochemistry. After finishing his master thesis in November 2021, Benedict decided to stay in our group for his PhD thesis. Currently, he is working on the field of iron catalysis while specializing in cycloisomerization reactions. After his daily lab routine, he tends to work out in the gym.
