Guest Lecture: Prof. Dr. Jun Lou

The Collaborative Research Centre 1415 is pleased to welcome Prof. Jun Lou, Rice University as as guest. Prof. Dr. Jun Lou will visit the Technical University of Dresden from March 24^th to April 04^th, 2025, to engage in discussions on the topics of 2D materials, particularly 2D nanomechanics, membranes, and 2D electronics. In addition to intensive scientific dialogue, Prof. Dr. Lou will give a lecture during his stay on the topic “Fracture at the Two-Dimensional Limit” in which he will report on his efforts to study the fracture behavior of 2D materials. In context, strategies for improving the fracture strength of graphene, including a nanocomposite approach, as well as the effects of defects on the mechanical properties of other 2D atomic layers, were discussed.
