Guest Lecture: Jun.- Prof. Dr. Jannika Lauth
The consortium of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1415 was delighted to welcome Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jannika Lauth from Eberhard Karls University Tübingen as a guest lecturer. During her two-day visit to the Technical University of Dresden (TUD), Prof. Dr. Lauth used the opportunity to discuss current research projects, collaborations, and innovative trends. In addition, she provided fascinating insights into her own current research through an extensive and highly engaging lecture.
In her scientific talk, “Towards Innovative Photonics With Tailored Colloidal 2D Materials and Fast Laser Pulses”, Prof. Dr. Lauth presented the direct wet-chemical synthesis of 2D nanomaterials, which exhibit strong excitonic effects and bright photoluminescence even at room temperature, making them highly suitable for photonics applications. Furthermore, she explained the targeted fabrication of 2D chalcogenide quantum dots for efficient photoluminescence at wavelengths relevant for telecommunications. Additional topics included her research on colloidal TMDC monolayers and investigations of light–matter interactions, aimed at understanding the dynamics of photoexcitation in various 2D nanomaterials to enable innovative photonics-related applications.
We sincerely thank Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jannika Lauth for her visit to TUD, for the valuable insights into her research, and for the stimulating scientific exchange!
