Guest Lecture Prof. Ali Javey

The consortium of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1415 would like to thank Prof. Dr. Ali Javey, University of California, Berkeley, for his online guest lecture on 2^nd November 2023. In his scientific talk "2D Semiconductor Optoeletronics: Advances, Challenges and Opportunities" Prof. Ali Javey reported recent advancements on understanding and controlling the radiative and non-radiative recombination rates in various 2D semiconductor systems and discussed the mechanisms by which non-radiative recombination can be fully suppressed in TMDC monolayers. Moreover he presented potential applications for black phosphorous (BP) thin films for midwave-IR photo detection and emission.
