Guest Lecture: Prof. Dr. Thomas J. Kempa
The Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1415 is delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Thomas J. Kempa, Johns Hopkins University, as a Mercator Fellow guest. Prof. Kempa will be visiting Technische Universität Dresden from June 1st to July 31st, 2025, to engage in in-depth exchange with researchers from various scientific fields. In addition to numerous individual scientific discussions, Prof. Dr. Kempa will give a lecture to CRC consortium on June 19, titled: “Chemical Design of 2D Heterostructures for Next Generation Electronics
His talk will highlight three key research areas: the synthesis of low-defect 2D semiconductors for future transistors, the development of 2D metal-organic frameworks for sensing and catalysis, and the integration of these materials into heterostructures that enable advanced optical and quantum physical phenomena.
We thank Prof. Dr. Thomas J. Kempa for his visit and his insightful lecture, and we look forward to continued collaboration!
