Guest Lecture Prof. Kirill Bolotin + Prof. Jong-Beom Baek

To the closing event of 2023 on 14^th December the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1415 welcomed Prof. Kirill Bolotin from Freie Universität Berlin and Prof. Jong-Beom Baek, UNIST Republik of Korea.Prof. Bolotin gave his guest lecture on “Turning new “knobs” on Hamiltonians of 2D materials“. In the first part of the talk, he focused on the induction of ultra-strong electric fields in 2D materials. In the second part of the talk, the focus was on controlling the strain state of high-quality 2D materials at cryogenic temperatures.

Prof. Baek gave a lecture on ”Fused Aromatic Network Polymers as Electrocatalytic Platforms”. He talked about network polymers which have attracted immense interest, because of their electronic, optoelectronic, magnetic and electrocatalytic properties and due to their tunable structures and properties offer many opportunities in various applications.
