Guest Lecture: Prof. Dr. Lorenz Kienle

The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1415 is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Lorenz Kienle from Kiel University as our guest. In his scientific lecture “Complex Nanostructured Materials”, Prof. Kienle will highlight how structural and chemical complexity in solids can be created through kinetically controlled syntheses, and how such complexity can be characterized across multiple length scales using complementary analytical methods. Using various material systems – from Ni–Cr–S and TMDC layered structures to laser-generated nanoparticles – he will demonstrate how structure–property relationships can be revealed and how targeted synthesis parameters can determine the functionality of modern (nano)materials.
