­Prof. Dr. Wolfgang E. Nagel awarded the TU Dresden Medal of Honor

The Technical University of Dresden (Technische Universität Dresden) has awarded Prof. Dr. Wolfgang E. Nagel the University Medal of Honor. The award was presented during a ceremonial event in the Dülfersaal and recognizes his outstanding commitment to the university.

Prof. Nagel, founding director of CIDS and long-time director of the ZIH, has significantly shaped the digital research landscape of TUD for nearly three decades—particularly in the fields of high-performance computing, data science, and artificial intelligence.

The award especially highlights his role in building key research infrastructures as well as his contributions to the strategic development of digital science at the Technical University of Dresden.
