Bakteriopolis in the city center: a journey through art, science and literature
Following its successful launch on the TU Dresden campus, the interactive exhibition Bakteriopolis will be presented in the city center (directly in front of the Kulturpalast) from August 12.
Grand opening on August 12 at 19:00
The exhibition will be officially opened on August 12 at 19:00. Prof. Thorsten Mascher will give an exciting introduction to the world of microbes, followed by presentations of current research results by three young scientists from the working group. After the presentations, visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk directly to the scientists. Learn more about the motivation, challenges and joys of the scientists' everyday lives over a drink afterwards.
Art workshop with Lyndsey Walsh on the subject of Nekrobiom
As part of the Canaletto Stadtfest, the renowned American artist, designer, researcher and author Lyndsey Walsh will offer workshops on the role of micro- and macro-organisms in the decomposition of materials and bodies. What cultural ideas play a role in this? The Rest In Pieces workshop series will take place on the following dates:

On August 23 at 19:00, microbiologist and author Susanne Thiele is expected at the COSMO Science Forum. She will read passages from her non-fiction book "Zu Risiken und Nebenwirkungen fragen Sie Ihre Türklinke" and take the audience on a virtual microbe discovery tour through their own four walls. She will also be presenting her latest science thrillers, in which bacteria and viruses play the leading roles.
